X-Ray
X-rays can detect pathology of the skeleton, such as broken bones, as well as detect some disease processes in soft tissue. The most common is the chest X-ray, which can be used to identify lung diseases such as pneumonia, lung cancer, or pulmonary edema. The abdominal x-ray can detect intestinal obstruction, free air from visceral perforations and free fluid in ascites. X-rays may also be used to detect pathology such as gallstones or kidney stones, which are often, but not always visible.
Medical Imaging
Since Röntgen discovered that x-rays could identify boney structures, X-rays have been used for medical imaging.
Digital X-Ray Equipment
At Desert Imaging, we use only digital x-ray equipment. These x-rays go directly from the image to the computer screen where a radiologist reads them.
